250 more Wade items added! (23rd June, 2010)

First of all, apologies for the slow updates recently. I've started a new job recently and it's getting a lot more difficult to find the free time to update the website. Also, the football is on, which doesn't help!

That said, I have just made another major update, with over 250 more items added. They include boxed Hatbox models, Disneys, posy bowls, teapots, Ringtons items, Connoisseur birds, Mabel Lucie Attwell figures, Tetley Tea items, and many more whimsies. Don't miss out, as some models sell almost as soon as they're listed!

The Arundel Wade Meet is fast approaching, and I'll be there as usual. If anyone wants me to bring any particular items down, just let me know and I'll be pleased to do so. Note that the date this year is Sunday 11th July.

40 new categories added - plus Wade fair update (23rd March, 2010)

Over the last few weeks I've made a few major updates to the website, with around 40 new categories and 400 new items, so please do take a look. These include:

• Thomas the Tank Engine money boxes and miniatures

• Many Irish items, including pixies, leprechauns, Irish porcelain ware, comical pigs and elephants

Sunday 18th April is the date for the first Wade fair of 2010 and I'll be attending as usual. The fair is being held at the North Stafford Hotel, Stoke-on-Trent and starts at 10.00am. If you've never been to a Wade fair before, it's worth coming along, as there's always a really good selection of products available, both old Wade and new. Plus, if that's not enough, you get the opportunity to meet me!

Joking aside, if anyone wants me to bring any specific items of Wade along to the fair, just give me a shout. Due to the limited space available, I can only bring a small percentage of my stock, but if I know you're after something in particular, I can make sure to include it.

Happy 2010! (18th January, 2010)

Firstly, a happy new year to all collectors out there. And if you've ordered from me recently, an especially happy new year to you!

I've just added around 150 more items to the website, including various Wade club models, Pocket Pals, Sherwood Forest models, many more whimsies, and a few older bits. Be sure to have a browse around and see what's new.

I had intended to make this update a bit sooner but a prolonged bout of flu over Christmas meant I couldn't do the work on the site I was intending to, which kind of hampered progress.

A few people have been asking about Irish Wade and why there isn't much on the website. Do not fear - I still have a large quantity in stock, and it will be listed soon. The amount of Wade currently listed on the site is only about half of what's available, but the rest will appear in the coming months.

Welcome to the new and improved benswade.co.uk! (1st December, 2009)

Hello! If you're a regular visitor to the website, you'll notice that it's had quite a major overhaul recently!

The old website was looking a bit dated after five years, and considering the huge amount of Wade I have for sale, I took the decision to redesign the whole site from the ground up.

In the process, numerous improvements have been made, the main ones being:

• Orders can now placed through the website with no need to email to check availability
• Payment can now be made using Paypal directly from the website (cheque option also available)
• Automatic currency conversion so you can pay in your preferred currency.
• A new webhost that (fingers crossed) actually keeps the site up!
• Technically much better - no frames, a faster database, better code, etc.
• A much improved look.

And if that wasn't enough, I've also cut the prices of many items on the site, so there are now even more bargains to be had!

I've developed the new site single-handedly, which is one of the reasons it's taken so long to complete. Over the next few weeks I'll be adding much more to it, including some articles and guides on collecting Wade and many, many more Wade items!

Lastly, my apologies to all the collectors who have contacted me over the past few months wanting to know when I'm going to update the website. I hope you find the wait worthwhile.
